Emergency managers now have access to new storm surge modeling for the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) in HURREVAC. The National Hurricane Center’s Storm Surge Unit published SLOSH data for this region in October 2026. The associated high-resolution MEOWs are available in HURREVAC’s Storm Surge (SLOSH) Explorer to help users understand their storm surge risk for both planning and operational decision-making.
The N Mariana Islands basin covers the islands of Rota, Tinian, and Saipan. These MEOWs can also be blended in HURREAC and exported as GeoTIFFs for use in other applications.
Questions pertaining to the new SLOSH data should be directed to Cody.Fritz@noaa.gov at the National Hurricane Center. General questions about storm surge tools in HURREVAC should be directed to support@hurrevac.com.
